Jean Flint Obituary

With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved Jean Flint, 85, passed away on April 5, 2025, at her home in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire after a valiant battle with cancer. She leaves behind a void in the hearts of her family and friends.

Jean was born on June 1, 1939, to Leon and Doris Laviolette (née McGuiness) in Leominster, Massachusetts where she attended Leominster High School. Jean met the love of her life, Bruce Flint, at the Howard Johnson’s restaurant in Leominster in her late teens and the two were married in 1958. They built a home in Lancaster, MA on the Flint family farmland and started a family. Jean was a proud mother and homemaker, supporting her husband in every way as he worked tirelessly building a business. Jean was a Scout Den Mother and was an active member of St. Mark's Episcopal church. In the 70’s Jean and Bruce built a modest summer home in Alton Bay, NH where they spent many years with their children, extended family, and friends enjoying the beauty of Lake Winnipesaukee.

Jean later worked part-time for her husband's business as a bookkeeper and enjoyed the opportunity to be part of the Acton Research Corporation team. Bruce and Jean moved to Wolfeboro, NH in the mid-eighties when they found a beautiful parcel of land on Wolfeboro Neck. It was a dream come true to live in such a beautiful setting, something they never took for granted. Jean took up the game of golf, and she and Bruce became active members of the Kingswood Golf Club for many wonderful years.

Time spent with her family was Jean’s greatest joy. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, and many friends. She was the cornerstone of her family, always there with a warm hug, a listening ear, and unwavering support. She is survived by her son Scott Flint; daughter Deborah Flint-Baum (David Baum); grandchildren Joshua Flint, Julia Baum, and Monica Baum; great granddaughter Julianna Flint; brothers Paul Laviolette and Mark Laviolette; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Bruce Flint, her sisters Sylvia Bouchard and Nancy Hertach, and brother Jack Laviolette.

A memorial service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church in Wolfeboro, NH on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM with luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital in Jean’s memory.
