Jeannie Lonergan Obituary

Jeannie Gail Lonergan ( Kilburn), aged 82, passed away surrounded by family, on June 21, 2024, at The Mountain View Nursing Home in Ossipee, New Hampshire. Born on July 22, 1941, in Concord, New Hampshire, she was a cherished member of her community and a lover of the natural world.

She spent her younger years dedicated to raising 5 children. Jeannie's life was marked by her profound appreciation for the outdoors. Her love of hiking in the White Mountains, kayaking, cross country skiing and boating on the ocean. Alongside her late husband Bill, Jeannie cultivated stunning fishponds and gardens that garnered admiration and were featured on local tours. Her artistic spirit flourished through painting, primarily with acrylics, which led her to participate in art exhibits, including a recent show at the Mountain View Community.

A gifted cook and baker, Jeannie was renowned for her delicious breads. She loved dining with close friends. Her love for animals was profound, particularly for her cats.

Jeannie leaves behind a loving family: her sister Linda Johnson and husband Ray; daughters Robin Webster and husband Steve, Debby
Chase, Patricia St. Peter, and Terry Akashian; and grandchildren Brooke and Tori Webster, Jordan St. Peter, and Hailey and Jacob Akashian. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ruth Kilburn; her husband, Bill Lonergan; and her son, Ron Kinney.

A celebration of Jeannie's life will be announced and held at a later date. Lord Funeral Home in Wolfeboro, NH, is assisting the family during this time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jeannie's memory can be made to the Lakes Region Humane Society, honoring her love for animals. Jeannie's legacy of warmth, creativity, and community engagement will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
