Joan P. Klimm

Joan P. Klimm, 91, of Wolfeboro, NH, passed away at home on Sunday September 25,
2022. Joan was born in Spring Lake, NJ on April 30, 1931. She has resided in Wolfeboro for the past 27 years spending winters in Vero Beach, FL.

Joan graduated from Asbury Park High School in 1949. She attended the University of Vermont where she met and married her husband Paul J. Klimm in 1952. She completed her college education at Fairleigh Dickinson University in1953 and later went on to earn a Masters Degree in Education from Monmouth University. Joan spent many years teaching in the Little Silver Public School System until she retired in 1990.

Joan’s many volunteer pursuits included: Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School teacher, President of Monmouth County alumnae chapter of Delta Delta Delta, the County Panhellenic Council and P.E.O. Chapter in Wolfeboro. While wintering in Vero Beach, FL she became a Master Naturalist from the University of Florida and volunteered for many years at the Environmental Learning Center conducting tours and working with students. She enjoyed playing golf, swimming, sewing,and crafts, but most of all loved her time with family and friends.

Predeceased by her parents, Charles and Myra Peterson, her husband Paul J. Klimm and her sister Jean C. Aldrich.  She is survived by her daughter Nancy (Klimm) Horton and her husband Jim Horton. Her grandchildren and their spouses: JP and Denise Horton great-granddaughter Emilia; Jonathan and Stefani Horton; Jennifer and Cameron Ross great-grandchildren Cameron, Jr. and Raelynn. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law June and Jack Bertram, nieces and nephews and their families.
