Joanne (Michaud) Moody, 82, of Wolfeboro, NH, died after a battle with Alzheimer and dementia on December 28, 2025 at the Arbors in Bedford, New Hampshire. She was born on October 28, 1943 in Wolfeboro the daughter of Alfonse Michaud and Claire (Michaud) Nash.
Joanne graduated from Brewster Academy, Class of 1961. Following her graduation, she went on to marry Donald Wilson. She was the loving mother of three children, Debra, Phillip, and April. Joanne was best known around town as a gifted seamstress. She has sewn many prom dresses, wedding dresses, slip covers, drapes and numerous alterations throughout her lifetime. She was the owner of Moody’s Sewing Center for many years until arthritis and the death of her second husband Robert “Cy” Moody caused her to stop. Even then she really didn’t stop. Joanne was a fiercely independent woman, who was proud of all the things that she did on her own. Besides sewing, Joanne enjoyed knitting, gardening, and cooking for her family and her church family at St. Katherine’s. She was forever grateful for all the help that they have given her these past few years.
In addition to her parents, Joanne was predeceased by her first husband Donald Wilson, her second husband Robert “Cy” Moody, by her aunts, Marguerite and Lucia, her uncles, Nazaiah and Paul, her brother David, her nephew Howard Pitts, and her beloved daughter April Dodier. She is survived by her siblings, Anita Pitts, Ginny Toom, and Robert Michaud and his wife Holly, her daughter Debby and her fiancé Stephen Pecorella. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Brennan Rankin, her grandsons, Jacob Dodier and his fiancé Bri, Zachary Dodier, Christopher Dodier, her great grandson Wesley Dodier as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held at Lord Funeral Home in Wolfeboro, NH on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be a short prayer around 7:00 p.m.
Interment will take place this spring.
