Joseph W. Duffy

Joseph W. Duffy, age 56, passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2024, in Barnstead, NH. He was a beloved son, brother, and father who will be greatly missed.

Joe was the son of Patricia and the late Arthur Duffy and grew up in Lynn, MA with his four brothers and two sisters. He attended Saint Pius V School for elementary school and then Bishop Fenwick in Peabody, MA for high school. As a child, he enjoyed spending many summers with his family at their lake house in Barnstead, NH, where Joe had called home since 2019. Joe was a kind and helpful man who was a talented carpenter and “jack of all trades.” He was always involved in a project to maintain or improve the family lake house and was always ready to lend his carpentry skills to his family for their home projects as well. In his free time, he loved to spend time fishing with his sweet and loyal dog, Buddy, by his side.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Isabelle, of Peabody, MA of whom he was very proud and would often update his family on her accomplishments and milestones at every opportunity. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia Duffy, of Barnstead, NH, his brother Arthur Duffy (Kathleen) of Swampscott, MA; his brother Michael Duffy (Sylvia) of Worcester, MA; his sister Teresa Mitchell (Robert) of Georgetown, MA; his sister Maureen Goulding (Christopher) of Lynn, MA; his brother Gerald Duffy (Elizabeth) of Woburn, MA; and his brother Kevin Duffy (Laura) of Wolfeboro, NH. He will also be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his father Arthur Duffy.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Lord Funeral Home in Wolfeboro, NH. There will be a private family service at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Joe’s name to your local Humane Society.
