Joseph L. Kowalski, born 12/5/48 passed away 12/22/25 leaving behind a legacy of dedication to family, community, and country. He was the beloved son of Bernard and Mary Kowalski and the oldest of six children, a role that shaped his steady presence and sense of responsibility throughout his life.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife, Paula, and his sons, Gregory and Matthew, granddaughter Natalia, his siblings Pat Lantych, Dot & Len Elwin, Steve & Deb Kowalski, Barb Kowalski and Ed & Karen Kowalski and best friend for over 50 years, Vince Gillis.
He attended Salem High School and proudly served as a member of the National Guard. Joe spent many years working for Verizon, from which he retired while residing in Beverly, Massachusetts.
Following retirement, Joe and Paula embraced a new chapter together, traveling and eventually settling in Tuftonboro, New Hampshire. There they found joy in the peace and quiet of their surroundings and the close-knit nature of the community. Joe became a familiar and respected figure at local town hall meetings, where his regular presence and thoughtful engagement made him well known among residents. Joe will be remembered for his commitment to his family, his involvement in the community, and the steady, thoughtful way he approached life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Joe requested no services and his interment was handled by Lord Funeral Home in Wolfeboro, NH.
