Karen Lynne Martella Blais

Karen Lynne Martelle Blais, a loving and kind-hearted soul, passed away the morning of May 13, 2024 at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, with her daughter, Melissa, by her side, after a long battle with multiple illnesses that impacted her life. Karen was the daughter of Joseph Martelle and Janet Keene Johnson (1943-2023), born in Portland, Maine. Karen graduated from Thornton Academy in Saco, Maine in 1983. She later attended the University of Southern Maine. Karen started working from a young age and later became an accountant for many years. 

She is survived by her only child, Melissa, who took care of her for many years due to years of illness that disabled Karen’s ability to live comfortably. Karen is also survived by Dustin Buswell, as he helped aid in all of the needs in her life for the past 4 years. 

Karen was a loving, dedicated mother who always devoted her time and heart to her daughter, whom she raised by herself. She loved the beach, taking care of her flowers, and being in the sunshine. Karen had many likes in life and continued to have high spirits and a smile on her face. Karen will be missed dearly and her memory will never fade. 

Daughter, Melissa, will be holding a celebration of life for Karen at her home in New Hampshire on June 2, 2024, to honor Karen’s life and bring those close to her together. Please contact Melissa directly for details.
