Kathleen G (MacDonald) Moody Merriwether

Kathleen Genevieve (MacDonald) Moody Meriwether passed away on May 13, 2020 at the Mountain View Community in Ossipee, New Hampshire where she had resided for several years.

Kay was born in Newton, Massachusetts on November 28, 1927 to Margaretta B. (Clish) and James S. MacDonald. She spent most of her life in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

Kay was known for her cooking. When her children were young, she worked at Edwards on Wentworth as a part-time Pastry Cook. Later, she owned and operated Katie-Did-It Hair Salon.

She was a vocal advocate of town matters and served as a passionate member of the GWRSD School Board.

Kay loved working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She had many pets over the years who were very special to her. She had many cherished friends. Most of all, she loved her family and especially her grandchildren.

Kay is survived by her son Jeffrey Moody and his wife Terry Colby, her daughter Leslie (Moody) Bernier and her husband Kevin, her son Scot Moody and his wife Lisa, her son Robert’s wife Lisa Hershey-Moody, and her grandchildren Amanda Moody, Natasha Moody, Reggie Moody and Spencer Moody. She is survived by her sister Margie Munroe and sister Dottie and her husband Howell Swarm. Kay leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family in Nova Scotia.

Kay was predeceased by her son Robert Moody, her parents, her brothers Jim, Chet and Leslie and her sisters Jean and Marion. 

There will be no calling hours. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
