Lesley Jane Halepis, 47, passed away on August 23, 2024, in Stowe, Vermont. Lesley was born in Beverly, Massachusetts to Walter and Susan Harding on April 17, 1977. Lesley proudly embodied the traits of an Aries woman – passionate, determined, and energetic.
Her smile glowed like golden sunshine, and the sound of her laugh was sweeter than music from a harp unstrung. On April 16, 2019, Lesley married James Michael Halepis on a secret beach in Oahu, Hawaii and music filled the air.
Lesley had a gypsy spirit – and though she loved to travel, she always enjoyed coming home to the coast of Maine to walk the beaches and collect sand dollars and heart shaped rocks.
Music was her passion, particularly music of the Grateful Dead and Phish. Lesley attended her first Phish show in 1994 and never looked back. When she wasn’t enjoying live music or the Maine ocean, she loved to be in the mountains, especially in the mountains of Vermont. Though Lesley enjoyed all of Vermont, her heart pounded strongly for Glover, where decades ago she became connected to the pageantry of the Bread and Puppet Theatre.
Lesley loved to dance in a beautiful dress. She believed in the gentleness of giraffes (her favorite animal) and the magic of the rainbow – but above all, she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. Her effervescent light will live on in the spirits of her beautiful children, Jonah, Keller, Camilla and Alexander. When times were hard, Lesley would remind everyone that “it is always darkest before the dawn.”
Though Lesley Jane is now on the road between dawn and the dark of night, she leaves behind a beautiful ripple of love in the hearts of all that knew her. Rest in Peace, Lesley Jane, you will always be missed, but you will never be forgotten. We love you.
