Marie Riley Ising was born on September 17, 1948, and passed away on October 12, 2024 at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH from complications due to cancer. Marie was born to James and Marie Riley (nee Stone) in Rockville Center, New York.
Marie graduated from St. Agnes High School. Marie attended Becker College in Worcester, MA and upon graduation moved to Boston, MA where she worked for a brokerage firm. Marie moved back to New York, living in Rockville Center, and worked for brokerage firms in New York City. Marie eventually moved to Manhattan to become a meeting planner for the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) and moved with NARI to their new headquarters in Washington, D.C.
In 1985, Marie moved to Fort Worth, TX and married her husband Burt on February 22, 1986. Marie began a career with American Airlines in the Fort Worth corporate office in the marketing department. In 1990 they moved to Akron, OH where Marie became a budget analyst with American Airlines at the Cleveland Hopkins base. In 1992 they moved to Portsmouth, NH and Marie continued to work at American Airlines at the Boston terminal. In 1995 they returned to Texas and Marie continued her career with American Airlines at the headquarters where she oversaw the American Airlines charities and was a budget analyst in the duty-free department. Marie retired from American Airlines in 2014. Over the next three years Burt and Marie rented a summer home in Wolfeboro, NH permanently moving to Wolfeboro in 2016. Marie was an active member of St. Katherine Drexel Parish in Alton, NH.
Marie is survived by Burt, her loving husband of 38 years, daughters Kathleen Ising of Bloomington, MN and Betsy Ising of St Clair Shores, MI; sister Nancy (Peter) Jordan of Georgetown, TX, nephew Steven (April) Jordan and their children of Houston, TX, niece Allison Jordan of Phoenix, AZ and many friends in Texas and New Hampshire.
Mass of resurrection will take place on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Katherine Drexel Parish in Alton, NH.
