Mindy Jones Obituary

Mindy Louise Jones

Mindy was born in Wolfeboro, NH on March 17, 1966 and passed peacefully on May 9, 2020.  From the age of three, Mindy fought a battle with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.  She had innumerable hospital stays over the next 50 years while being treated by many wonderful doctors and nurses with whom she shared much affection and admiration.  She was very well known for her sharp wit, intelligence and strength.

Mindy graduated from Kingswood Regional High School where she challenged teachers even while becoming lifelong friends with many of them. She graduated from Keene State College with a degree in English.  While there, she began sharing her passion for music as a radio host which she pursued later at several local radio stations.

After college she traveled around Europe for several months. Upon her return she spent time living in various places in NH, Maine and Texas, eventually moving back to NH to be close to her hometown.  She worked many years in the lighting and electrical supply industry including at Barnard Associates, Holmes Distributors, and CWA Lighting Group.

She had a real knack for merchandising and began an eBay consignment business.  Continuing to follow her passion and talent, she opened GeezLouise Eclectic Home Décor in Melvin Village in 2009.  It quickly became a well-known community destination with a huge following.  She closed the shop last November to follow more of her lifelong dreams and goals, including writing, designing and producing new products.  Mindy loved her cats and dog, music, reading, writing, poetry, traveling, spiritual learning, competitive games, and cracking inappropriate jokes.

Mindy is survived by her parents, Rick and Susan Weeks of Tuftonboro and Ken and Debi Jones of Wolfeboro; sisters Joy Ramsbotham, Maggie Weeks and Susannah Deily-Swearingen, brother and sister-in-law Jeff and Rebecca Jones and their children, Isaac, Joshua, Sadie and Tessa.  She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends - too many to name.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to GALA (Global Awareness, Local Action), a non-profit organization in Wolfeboro, NH that works on a local level for global benefit.  Checks can be sent to GALA at PO Box 2267, Wolfeboro, NH 03894, or donate by phone (603-569-1500) or online at contact@galacommunity.org.

A celebration of Mindy’s life will be held at a later date when large gatherings are once again safe.
