Muriel V. (Lucas) Hooper

Tuftonboro, NH

Muriel V. Lucas Hooper of Center Tuftonboro, NH., was born July 22, 1929, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday May 24, 2023.

Muriel was born in Leicester, MA.  She moved with her parents to Wolfeboro, NH when she was one year old.  Muriel attended Brewster Academy, Wolfeboro, NH where she met the love of her life.  After graduating they built their forever home in Center Tuftonboro, NH.  As the family grew, rooms were added to the home.  Both Muriel and Ellsworth resided at home till they were called upon, to once be together.

Muriel is survived by her daughters, Nancy Hooper Molburg and husband John Molburg of Tyrone, PA.; Sandra Hooper Shepard and husband Robert Shepard, Barrington, NH; Debra Hooper Santulli and husband Nicholas Santulli of Tuftonboro, NH; Pam Hooper Munroe and husband Bruce Munroe, North Conway, NH; Son David Hooper and partner Carla Wright of Laconia. NH.  Other surviving relatives include 15 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren and extended family.

Muriel fulfilled her life with being active with, ice skating, skiing and swimming.  Muriel worked summers at the Willey House in Crawford Notch during her teen years.  She was always reading books about the history of New Hampshire.  Finally when all of her children were enrolled in school, she joined the work force at Davidson Rubber Plant where many life- long friends were made.  Muriel enjoyed family camping trips, Saturday night bowling league, and neighborhood barbecues.

Muriel devoted her life to making family memories of holiday gatherings, her Sunday dinners with a desert always to follow.  Muriel enjoyed making homemade crafts that she would sell at craft shows in New Hampshire and Maine.

Muriel will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her!

A graveside service will be held on Sunday June 25, 2023 at 1:00pm in the Townhouse Cemetery, Tuftonboro, NH.
