Myrtle L Hodge 103 of Center Ossipee passed away peacefully at the Mountain View Community, Ossipee, NH on Monday, December 23, 2019, after a brief period of declining health. She was born in Parsonfield Maine on August 30, 1916 to Allyn & Lilia (Smith) Langley. She graduated from the Parsonfield Seminary in June 1933. She attended the First Free Will Baptist School in the United States. She will be remembered for her strong faith in the Lord.
In June 1935 she married Eugene W Hodge and together they had three sons Wayne, Gary & Allyn
She worked for many years at Ames Manufacturing in Center Ossipee, NH. She also worked as a seamstress from her home. A lifetime member of the Moultonville Methodist Church, she loved to cook for the Church and Ossipee Concerned Citizens.
Myrtle had a warm smile for everyone. Of her many talents, she loved to cook for her children and all of her grandchildren remembering each one’s favorite meal and dessert. A beautiful seamstress, she loved to do crafts and cooking her amazing Potato Salad. Myrtle will be remembered by many generations of trick or treaters who would wait patiently all year long just to get her fudge.
Later in Life she loved going to Florida in the winter time with her son Gary and His wife Pat. She loved meeting new friends and getting out and walking every day with Wayne and Kathleen Cummings.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Eugene, sons Wayne & Gary, Daughter in law Alice (Fleischer) Hodge, Grandsons Denis, Steven and Great Grandson Cody Camp of AZ. all of her siblings and their spouses Carolyn Conner, Mary Loring, Norma Charles, Roland Langley, and Donald Langley.
Myrtle is survived by her Son Allyn & Eileen of Laconia, Daughter in law Alice (Hamel) Hodge of Enfield Ct, Patricia (Brooks) Hodge of Port Charlotte Fl. her grandchildren Sherry, Shelly, Wendy, Sandra, Kristen, Tracey and Seth, and great grandchildren Alicia, Brittany, Luke, Eric, Justin, Jenna, Alaina, Lauren, Dexter, Nathan, Nicole, Cal, and Bryce. Many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements will be later in the spring.
