Nancy A. Malvesta passed away the morning of April 18, 2024 at her beloved home in Eaton, NH. Nancy grew up the oldest of three children to Arline and William Pray in South Weymouth, MA. Nancy and her two brothers, Bill and Don, and her many cousins, spent many of their summer days trolling the waters in Little Pleasant Bay on Cape Cod.
She married the love of her life, Robert Malvesta, on May 30, 1965, they started their life in Colchester Vermont and had two children, son Stephen and daughter Jennifer. They then moved to Missouri while Bob was on active duty. After the three years there, they moved to Bangor, Maine and there they had such a rich and rewarding life built around friends that became family.
On a whim they bought a small home in Eaton, NH in 1976, that took a life on its own. The house soon became their second home and their full-time destination in 1995. They created so many memories in that home from family holidays, baking challenges, parties with friends, and visits with friends from Bangor, South Carolina, and beyond.
Nancy was always so active, whether it was her children’s schools or their extra-curricular activities or civic-related duties in Bangor, ME or Eaton, NH. She took great pride in her local institutions and communities and was an eager and active participant in both. She also had a great many personal interests including knitting, quilting, cooking and she was an avid reader. But nothing gave her more pride and joy than her family. She was a devoted wife, a loyal friend, a loving and caring Mother and a doting Grandmother. Perhaps one of her greatest accomplishments and lifelong passions was her exhaustive research and study of her family tree. Nancy was so much more than a Genealogy enthusiast; she was a true expert with volumes of published research that traced her family all the way back to the Mayflower and beyond.
The burial will take place on May 17, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Snowville Cemetery in Snowville, New Hampshire.
We want to thank all her friends and family that gave her love and support throughout her wonderful life and ask you to keep her memory alive in your thoughts and prayers.
