We lovingly remember and celebrate the life of Robert “Bob” McKenzie devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Born on October 15, 1950, in Hanover, New Hampshire, he journeyed through life with a generous spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He passed peacefully on February 10, 2026, after a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
Bob was a man defined by warmth and generosity, always ready to extend a helping hand. The third son of Raymond and Helene, he was predeceased by his brother Larry and leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his devoted wife of 18 years, Penny; his son Jon and daughter-in-law Shannon; stepson Ryan and daughter-in-law Stephanie; stepdaughter Heather and son-in-law Matt; and stepdaughter Erin and her partner Jon. Bob is also survived by his sisters, Jennette and Shirley, and their families, including his nephew Justin, niece Heather, and brother-in-law Jessie. His sister-in-law Gerry also held him close to her heart. A proud and cherished grandfather, Bob found immense joy in Allie, Asher, Auron, Charley, Cole, Colin, Emmett, Haileigh, Inara, Jaelon, Leighton, Macklin, and Kaeden, along with Kaeden’s partner, Kenzie. Bob’s legacy of love and kindness lives on through the many lives he touched.
Bob was raised in Wilder, Vermont, and graduated from Hartford High School. Soon after, he began his long career with U-Haul, representing the company in different roles for over four decades. Always busy, Bob managed several businesses throughout his life—from limousine services to storage units—expanding his connections with each new endeavor. Friends joked that it was impossible to go anywhere without meeting someone who knew him.
He was always eager for a road trip, whether traveling by motorcycle or car. Bob enjoyed riding motorcycles with Penny, meeting Bill for lunch, hitting the golf course with Chuck, or even just heading to the post office—which often included grabbing a quick slice of pizza and a fountain soda.
Bob dedicated more than four decades to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, faithfully living its values of friendship, love, and truth. His commitment to community never wavered, and his presence at gatherings offered comfort, connection, and genuine fellowship.
Calling hours will be held on March 7, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a celebration of Bob's life beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Lord Funeral Home, located at 23 Club Lane, Wolfeboro, NH 03894.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Mountain View Community and Cornerstone Hospice for their compassionate care during Bob's final days.
In this time of remembrance, we honor Bob's life, cherishing the memories and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. His love, laughter, and kindness will continue to guide us, a testament to a life well-lived. Rest in peace knowing that you are loved beyond measure and will be dearly missed.
