On September 30th, 2019 Rodney Arthur Lyman took his last breath surrounded by his loving family.
Throughout his long battle with illness, he kept his sense of humor and the love of his family.
Rodney “Deke” was a lifelong resident of Silver Lake and spent 20 years as the custodian at Madison Elementary School. He played softball for years and enjoyed the outdoors, especially the view of Mount Chocorua from his porch. He was especially known for his funny sayings, jokes, or sarcastic whit and loved to share a story or smile with family and friends. He will be sorely missed.
Rodney was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Susan, his brothers Larry and Pat and his sisters Joyce and Sandra.
He is survived by his wife Debra and his three children Matthew Lyman and his wife Kim, Melanie Bova and her husband Peter, and Shannon Kurze and her husband Richard. He was also survived by his greatest pride his grandchildren, Alex Lyman and his fiancé' Amanda, Olivia Spaulding and her husband Chris, Logan Lyman, Parker and Payton Kurze, and his great grandchildren Jackson and Georgia. He also loved his step-grandchildren Katie and Sabrina Bova and Taylor and Sara Bishop and his chubby dog Albert. Also mourning his death are his brothers Wayne Lyman, Chucky David Lyman and his wife Jane, and his sisters Laurel Sexton and her husband Ken, Beth Lyman and Sheri Lyman as well as countless nieces and nephews.
His celebration of life will occur on Sunday October 13th at the Madison Church at 3pm. A private burial will occur at a different time.
