Ronald Ernest Glidden, 75 of Wolfeboro, NH, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He was born on March 17, 1948, to the late Lyle E. and Olive M. (Estes) Glidden. He grew up in Wolfeboro and attended Brewster Academy and then being one of the first Graduates from the newly built Kingswood High School.
Ron and his childhood sweetheart Debbie (Adjutant) married in 1969. Ron then left for boot camp training for the United States Air Force. He then returned home to move his bride to California to service for 4 years. While in California the couple had their first child.
After the service Ron and Debbie moved back to New Hampshire to raise their young family and adding a son. During the 1970’s Ron began building homes. He operated his own building company.
Ron was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved golfing as well. Playing many rounds of golf throughout the years at Indian Mound Golf Course as well as Rochester Country Club. And during the winter season, he could be found playing golf simulation in Rochester or just catching a game on TV.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren. They were a great highlight to his day when he could see them. He also truly enjoyed helping his neighbors as well as being a craftsman.
Ron will be missed by many. He was predeceased by his wife Debbie in 2016, also his siblings Dennis Glidden, Charlotte Chamberlain. Surviving siblings are Chuck Glidden, Margo Trafton, Linden Glidden. Ron is survived by his children Tammy Soufley and her husband Sam, and Robert Glidden and his wife Sara. The grandchildren include Gracie and her husband Greg Sullivan, Kaleb Glidden and his fiancé Faith Murphy, and Rebecca Johnson. Great-Granddaughter Luna Sullivan and Ron was anxiously awaiting the newest one Eleanor Sullivan.
There will be calling hours with a memorial service at the Lord Funeral Home, 23 Club Lane, Wolfeboro, NH on January 12, 2024, from 5 PM to 7 PM all are welcomed to attend.
