For 35 years he proudly placed the American Flag on the graves of Veterans in Ossipee, taking on the honor from his father-in-law, George Campbell of Center Ossipee, NH.

In 2018 he was named Citizen of the Year for the Town of Ossipee, NH.  Roy had a great love of nature and he had many hobbies including gardening, hiking, wood working, fishing, art and raising turkeys.  For years he donated turkeys to the Ossipee Concerned Citizens and the Ossipee Corner Fire Department.
