Center Tuftonboro, NH
Sally H. Sharples, longtime resident of Center Tuftonboro NH, passed away in her home on the morning of Saturday, October 21 2018. Sally was born February 8, 1939 to Roberts Harrison and Jeanne E. Harrison (later Hill) of St David’s PA. She was married to Lawrence P. Sharples from 1962 until his death in 2009.
Sally will be remembered by family and friends as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and as a quiet yet determined and generous supporter of her community. She served for many years on the boards of the Lakes Region Humane Society and the L.I.F.E. Ministries Food Pantry where she was a past president and contributed to numerous causes especially those dedicated to preserving the environment and helping those less fortunate. Sally took great pride in the planning and upkeep of the gardens surrounding her home, the historic Charter House Farm, enjoyed sailing on Lake Winnipesaukee with her husband “Pete” and found purpose and comfort in the fellowship of the Melvin Village Community Church where she was a member of the congregation.
Sally is survived by her sister Tunia Hyland, brother Ted Hill, sons Christopher, James and William, and by her grandsons Harrison, John and Peter.
A memorial service will be held at Melvin Village Community Church this Saturday at 11 am, followed by a reception at her home. Memorial Donations may be made to the L.I.F.E. Ministries Food Pantry or the Lakes Region Humane Society.
