Sheila Brown Obituary

Sheila Schaefer Brown, born February 12, 1947, died in the loving arms of her family on Tuesday, August 5, in Wolfeboro, NH. She was mother to Gillian and Samuel, wife to Rev. David Morgan, pastor of the First Christian Church, grandmother to August, Iris, and Josey, sister to Matthew Schaefer, and daughter to Joseph and Josephine Schaefer.

Sheila was married to Gilly and Sam’s father, Robert W. Brown, until his passing in 2000.

For more than 20 years, Sheila was a passionate and beloved teacher at Tuftonboro Central School, as well as Effingham Elementary School and the Ossipee Cooperative Nursery School. She touched the lives of countless students and community members. She was in love with learning and passed that on to us all.

Sheila was a fierce and loyal friend, a lover of all creatures great and small, a champion for women’s rights and those in need, and an indefatigable creative spirit whose mark on our town will never fade.

Sheila lit up every room she was in with curiosity, compassion and joy. She asked big questions and challenged us to do the same. She was beautiful and she made the world around her a more beautiful place. She will forever burn bright in our hearts and memories.
