Stephen L. Orzechowski, 75, died peacefully on Wednesday June 21st, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Steve was born on November 3rd, 1947, in Beverly, MA, the oldest of three sons to Louis and Margaret Orzechowski. He was raised in Beverly where he met the love of his life, Cheryl (Tingley). They married in 1967 and together they raised three daughters. Steve proudly served in the U.S. Air Force prior to his lengthy career at various power plants throughout New England.
After his retirement, Steve and Cheryl moved to Wolfeboro where he enjoyed watching the wildlife from their porch and hosting holidays and cookouts. Steve enjoyed fishing, genealogy, and tending to his grill, always with a Dunkin’s coffee in hand. He looked forward to his Tuesday breakfasts with his lifelong friends.
He was most proud of his family and shared a close bond with his girls. Steve was an amazing husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. His kindness and humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Steve is predeceased by his parents, Cary and Peggy and his brother, Bobby. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl, daughters Kristin Moody and son-in-law Tim, Leslie Orzechowski, Lorri Orzechowski and son-in-law Mike, grandchildren Sarah Hilton and her fiancé Blake, Jacob Moody, Elizabeth Moody, and Reilly Coghlan, his brother Michael Orzechowski, sisters-in-laws Debbie Talbot and Nancy Belleau and her husband Dave, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the kind staff at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital who cared for Steve during his lengthy stay. A special thank you to Julie, Whitney, Aubrey, and Val. Their kindness and compassion were a great comfort to Steve and his family.
His service will be held on Saturday, June 24th, at 4pm at Lord Funeral Home, 23 Club Lane, Wolfeboro, NH. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice.
