Wilma W Marden

Wolfeboro, NH 

Wilhelmina “Wilma” (LaBaff) Marden of Wolfeboro NH died peacefully on Wednesday June 8, 2022 at Mountain View Community, Ossipee, NH with family at her side.  She was predeceased by the love of her life, Bob Marden, in December of 1993. 

Wilma was born on July 31, 1925 and grew up in Natick MA; she graduated from Newton-Wellesley School of Nursing. Wilma worked as an RN at Winchester Hospital for many years while she and Bob raised their family in North Reading and Andover MA.  They “retired” from their careers as a nurse and an engineer in 1971 to move to Wolfeboro NH to run Bailey’s Dockside Restaurant with the Bailey/Skelley family. They ran a successful restaurant in the heart of Wolfeboro for 16 years.  After leaving the restaurant business, they opened a children’s shop, Tender Times, in downtown Wolfeboro, with their daughter Cindy.

She and Bob spent their winters sailing in the Caribbean and skiing (well, as everyone will remember, Bob skied while Wilma held down the table in the lodge reading her book and waiting for her manhattan). Their summers were spent at Westwood Bay on Lake Winnipesaukee.  Wilma also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and Oxford Casinos with her family.

Wilma leaves her four children:  Wilma Marden Cunningham, Rich Marden, his wife, Paula, Steve Marden, his wife Maureen, and Cindy Marden Clancy, as well as, her 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.  Wilma also leaves behind her sister-in-law Gloria Sudbury of Oregon and her family.  

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Mountain View Community in Ossipee NH and Compassus Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion.

Calling hours will be Thursday June 16th from 6-8PM at Lord Funeral Home. Wolfeboro, NH.

A private graveside will be held in Lakeview Cemetery, Wolfeboro, NH.
