thinking so often about barb this year. how passionately we would have critiqued and debated (in full agreement , fortunately) the tragedies of 2020. she would be strong, confident and vigilant in her love for america but , perhaps, saddened and perplexed.
what a wonderful legacy she left .......maya. love always, leah

Hello Maya,
I knew your mom back in the day, Old Town Alexandria, VA before she moved north, and just around her first visit to France. I knew her mom, and brother too. Barbara and I worked together and had the best time, we were super close friends and just enjoyed exploring DC and places all around Alexandria. I attended her wedding to Lee, years ago, and served as her Maid of Honor. We lost touch through the years, sadly, but she always come to my mind and I knew I had to find her. I am so sad to know she is no longer with us. I never met anyone like her before or since. She was one of a kind, fun, outgoing, brilliant, energetic, interested in everything, amazing personality and just such a bright light. Please if you can, email me at eyoungs@comcast.net and I'd love to know more about her recent years, you, and how Barbara lived and worked. I hope to hear from you. God Bless and my you find comfort knowing Barbara touched so many lives.

Barbara was one of my first real bosses, and she will forever be one of my favorite bosses. The work ethic and sense of pride in my accomplishments she instilled in me still resonates nearly 20 years later. I remember the two summers I spent in the Wolfetrap kitchen very fondly--the first two summers it existed! I'll miss being able to stop by and say hello when we're in Wolfeboro. Barbara always had a smile and a kind word for me and my family.
