Gertrude was a wonderful neighbor and friend to my mother, Evelyn. She was always a gentle and graceful example of caring and helping others. Sincere condolences to all the Dale children on the loss of your wonderful mother and to all others who held Gert dear.

In June of 1960 for Dad's 40th birthday, Mother had Mrs. Dale make a special cake. A cake from her was the best our area could provide. I had seen some of her work before and couldn't wait to see the finished product.
Mrs. Dale underlined the Sunday School lesson to use your talents. You just never know who you might help or inspire. She had inspired me with many cake projects I tackled , and to this day whenever I see a "fancy cake", I think of her. Remembering her also as our school nurse and every bit as sweet and kind as her picture shows.
My condolences to all her immediate and extended family.

Nancy ... I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom. I met her back when we moved to Freedom (1970's) and we would go to her greenhouse on Route 16 for plants. I remember her as a very sweet woman whose daughter Nancy met and fell in love with another friend, Kelly McClare just fresh out of the Academy. Time flies by and I have recently enjoyed seeing her through your Facebook postings. I'm sure she has been extremely proud of her children and grandchildren and you will find comfort in each other.
