Dave explained the importance of a fair teachers' contract to a group of Keewaydin Road neighbors in the early 1980's .He brought reason, value and community to that gathering and continued in his work as a State Legislator. He educated and lived the truth of the democracy. A kind, gentle and loving man ,yet he may make a few suggestions to improve Heaven .Not with us today but his work continues.

My sincere condolences to David's family. I met David only twice for lunch in Concord with his nephew, Scott, a few years ago and was touched by David's passion for our State and understanding the issues, compassion and respect toward others, and his warmth as a person. Although I did not know him well or for very long, it was immediately obvious to me he was a great man.

To Sarah, Beth and family,
I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I am trying to come up with something comforting to say, but words are failing me. Know I am thinking of you and praying for you and, despite the time it has been since seeing you, grieving for you as well. "Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted."
Sincerely, Erin (Heppe) Dauphinais

David was a wonderful teacher, mentor and colleague. At the Model Congress at AIC, David was a role model for his students and his peers. His participation in Close-Up over many years provided his students with an understanding and appreciation of how government impacts their lives and the lives of fellow citizens. He embodied the word "gentleman". RIP my friend.

Mr. Knox inspired me as a student, pushed me to do better and go further. His love of government, politics and civics lead me to a career in journalism. Years later when covering the State House for a NH media outlet he knew who I was right away, and again pushed me to reach higher. His legacy lives on through many.
