To Pam and the Matson Family;
Lois and I were saddened to learn of Sam's passing. Personally he was a valued friend, and professionally a respected associate. My close connection to your family goes back to your grandfather, Judge Donald Matson, who ruled for justice at the Concord District Court. I remember shivering in a cold winter swamp on a stakeout with your father, that by dawn turned fruitless. He good naturedly asked..."what else would you have been doing tonight...sleeping? That was his way.....doing the tough jobs without complaint while always "delivering the goods" with respect and dignity. A true law enforcement gentleman who I will miss greatly. Our prayers go with him.
