BarbaraAnn Lynne Maddix

October 26, 1947 ~ October 18, 2016 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Maddix, B. Lynne. Entered eternal life October 18, 2016, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born BarbaraAnn Lynne Trease in Escondido, CA, October 26, 1947, to Charles Jackson Trease and Barbara (Weber) Trease. Raised in Southern California, she met her husband while he was stationed at Mirmar Naval Base, in San Diego. At 18 years old she moved across country and married Barry.  They raised their family in his hometown of Needham, MA. Lynne was very involved in all activities of her family life including Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, PTO president, firefighter wives, snowmobile club and all the sports her children played. She was also involved in Needham Football and Cheerleading. An avid sports fan and supportive mom, she never missed a game her children played throughout their youth, high school and college sports careers.

Lynne was passionate about sewing and spent many enjoyable years working at Jackson Fabrics along side her daughter. She later worked as a customer service rep for Technical Papers in Dedham, until her retirement in 2004. Upon retirement, Lynne and Barry sold their home in Needham and became full time residents at their lake house in Wolfeboro, NH. There, Lynne was an active member of the Newcomers Club and The Wolfeboro Garden Club along with her good friend, Fran. She enjoyed living on the lake and especially enjoyed sharing every summer, school vacation, and long weekend with her adoring grandsons, Jack and Thomas. The boys were "Mimi's" pride and joy and she was happiest when she was with them, cooking, crafting, reading and exploring.

Lynne spent all her time loving life with her friends and family. With her huge dimples, she always had a smile on her face and a kind word to say to everyone. She loved adventures, whether traveling down a scenic New England dirt road, or traveling the US and overseas with her sister, Jill. She loved all seasons and all animals. She had a fondness for horses, llamas, and certainly her special cat, Stash.

Lynne was a sweet, amazing, strong, and beautiful person. She lived her time with cancer to the fullest and made every day count. She was determined to enjoy and love her family to the very last day. Lynne will forever be missed and will be forever in our hearts.

Lynne is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Barry A. Maddix. She leaves her devoted children, Laura Lee (Maddix) Willard and her husband Ralph, of Braintree, MA, and Brett A. Maddix, of Wolfeboro, NH, and her cherished grandsons Jack A. Willard and Thomas J. Willard. She is survived by her sister, Jill Shugarman of Petaluma, CA, and her brother Charles Jackson "Skip" Trease, of Sacramento, CA, many nieces and nephews, as well as her dear friend of over 40 years, Ivy McGeachie.

Donations may be made in Lynne's name to the Lakes Region Humane Society or the Central New Hampshire VNA and Hospice. Funeral arrangements will be private.
