Leona Bickford Morgan

November 3, 2015

Leona Albertha Bickford Morgan, 99, born January 21, 1916, passed away peacefully at Mountain View Community on Tuesday, November 3, 2015.  Leona was the last surviving child of Alonzo and Ida Edith (Martin) Bickford. She lived in Wolfeboro her entire life until she moved to Mountain View two years ago.  She attended local schools graduating from Brewster Academy in 1934.  Leona was also a member of the Order of Myrtle Rebekka in Wolfeboro, NH

Leona was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Neal G. Morgan.  She is survived by her sons Daniel G. and wife Mary, Michael N. and wife Terrie, and daughter Patti M. Thomas and husband Eric; step-daughter Zita Gillis; grandchildren Troy Morgan and wife Caroline, Trevor Morgan and wife Kris, both of Somersworth, LeaAnn Morgan of Everett, Washington, Karl Morgan of Wolfeboro, Mark Morgan of Nashua, Lea Morgan of Arlington, Ma, Erika LaPresto and husband John of Brooklyn, NY, Alex Wyatt of Houston, TX and Andrew Furnee of Boise, Idaho; step-granddaughter, Janet LaRiviere ;    great-grandchildren Cassidy, Carson, Colby and Carter Morgan, Ben and Michelle Nathan, nieces Judy Hersey and Joan Kimball and nephew Wayne Morgan and wife Nancy.

Leona, or “Nana” as she was known to everyone, was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sorely missed by all.  She will be remembered for her smile, laughter, her joy for life, and her infectious warm personality.  To have known Nana is to have known Love.  She would greet you with a smile and a giggle, and after a visit full of laughter she would send you off with a warm hug, another giggle, and tell you to come again soon.  When you said that you would, she would say, “Well bless your heart,” and you knew that she had.

The family would like to thank the staff at Mountain View for their loving care of Leona during the last two years and especially during her final days.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family.  Contributions in her memory could be made to the activities department at Mountain View Community, 93 Water Village Rd., Ossipee, NH 03864.
