Ivan G. Burnell, 83, of Center Ossipee passed away Sunday January 13, 2013 at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH.
Ivan was born October 25, 1929 in Brooklyn NY, to Charles Burnell and Eugenia Mucher. he attended Hoosac and Stony Brook Prep Schools in NY.
Ivans family started Clarostat Manufacturing in Long Island, NY and later moved business to the Mills in Dover, NH, where he worked until he joined the Army and served during in the Korean War.
While serving in the Army, he married Janet C. John, and had 5 children.
Ivan graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Mechanical engineering. He went to wodk for NASA, with NASA Scientists in Huntsville, Alabama. He later moved to Cape Canaveral to help build the Kennedy Space Center and worked with the original 7 Astronauts.
After leaving the space program, Ivan moved back to New England where he and Janet started Valley View Farm, Sandwich, NH as a family bakery.
Ivan married Dagny Dube in 1977 and together they started the international Personal Development Company. Ivan became a Professional Motivational Speaker and Business Consultant. He also authored 4 books on Personal Growth that have been published worldwide.
Ivan is survived by his wife Dagny, of Center Ossipee, NH as well as his ex-wife Janet Burnell, Sandwich, NH and their children, Charles Burnell and his wife Suzanne, Gainsville, FL, Karen Burnell and companion Mircea, Center Ossipee, NH, William Burnell and wife Patricia, Strafford, NH, Daniel Burnell and Christoper Burnell, Sandwich, NH. also Ivan's step children, Kathy Gagne and husband Norman, Hilton Head, South Carolina, David Blouin, Wolfeboro, NH, Francis Blouin,Worcester, MA, Elaine Rice and her husband Ken, Bynum, Montana and Michael Blouin, Tamworth, NH. He also has 8 grandchildren and 3 great -grandchildren.
A Celebration of Ivan's Life will be held 2:00PM Sunday January 20, 2013 at St. Joseph's Church, Moultonville Road, Center OSsipee, NH. Masonic Services will be held at the Church at 2:00PM with Military Honors following the services.
